SECONDARY BATTERY AND ELECTRIC DOUBLE-LAYER CAPACITOR

PURPOSE:To obtain a thin and lightweight secondary battery with improved strength by using a required carbon film and an alkaline metal for a positive electrode and a negative electrode respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a pitch active film is used for a positive electrode 1 and an alkaline metal such as lithium or sodium is used for a negative electrode 3 across a separator 2, a thin and lightweight secondary battery having the positive electrode with increased strength and hardly broken when repeatedly charged and discharged is obtained as compared with the positive electrode mixed with a caking additive into granular activated carbon or activated carbon. When an ion permeating separator impregnated with an electrolyte is pinched between a pair of activated carbon films, a lightweight and small-sized electric double-layer capacitor with improved strength is obtained likewise.
