Electrical connector, especially for a lighting appliance, which includes a lamp (4) supplied, at a very low safety voltage, from a distribution circuit (network) via two insulated terminals, comprising a first connection wire (9) joined to a support of the appliance formed by a hollow elongate element (11), rigidly attached to a fixed bearing member (14) and supporting the lighting lamp, and a second connection wire (10) insulated from the first. According to the invention, the electrical connector in question is characterised in that the hollow element forming the support (11) contains a conductive metal tube (18) mounted so as to slide axially in this element and connected, at one end, to a first terminal of the lamp and, at the other end, to a rod forming a male pin (35), electrically insulated from the tube and joined via a connecting wire (33) to the second terminal of the lamp, this rod penetrating into a metal female socket (37) open at its end and connected to the second connection wire, the sliding tube driving with it the socket and the second wire in its axial movement with respect to the hollow element, without impeding the relative rotation of the appliance with the tube by the then rotationally immobilised socket (37). <IMAGE>
