PURPOSE:To obtain a composite sintered body which is enhanced in mechanical strength at room temp. by mixing aluminum nitride powder, hexagonal boron nitride powder and silicon oxide powder, pressurizing and heating this mixed powder in the specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:The aimed AlN-BN-based composite body is obtained by mixing 40-90 wt.% aluminum nitride powder, 10-60 wt.% hexagonal boron nitride powder and 0.5-10 wt.% silicon oxide powder, pressurizing and heating this mixed powder at 1600-2000 deg.C at 5-100 MPa in a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere. In the production of the composite sintered body, when the mechanical strength of the sintered body is enhanced by the polytype of aluminum nitride and also high thermal conductivity is expected to be obtained, it is achieved by incorporating at least one kind of calcium compd. and yttrium compd. together with the polytype into the sintered body. |
