THERMAL TRANSFER IMAGE RECEIVING SHEET

PURPOSE:To obtain an image receiving sheet forming an image having high printing sensitivity and high density and excellent in preservability by constituting the main component polymer in an image receiving layer of at least one member selected from a polymer having specific melt viscosity and containing an ester bond unit in its molecule and a crosslinked body thereof. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer image receiving sheet has a sheet like support and the image receiving layer formed to at least one surface thereof and containing a dyeable polymer capable of fixing a thermally transferred dye image as a main component. The main component polymer in the image receiving layer is composed of at least one member selected from a polymer showing 10<6>Pa.S or more at 140 deg.C and 10<5>Pa.S or more at 160 deg.C in melt viscosity and containing an ester bond unit in its molecule and a crosslinked body thereof. When the melt viscosity of the dye fixing polymer is below the above mensioned value, trouble such that an ink ribbon becomes easy to fuse to the obtained image receiving layer at the time of printing operation or the dye in an image becomes easy to re-transfer during the preservation of a print is generated.
