(A) 3-Hydroxypropyl carbamate derivs. of formula (Ia) are new: X = H, COR11 or R13; R1 = opt. substd. alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R2, R11 and R13 = opt. substd. alkyl or alkenyl; R3-R8 = H or opt. substd. alkyl; or R2+R3, R3+R7, R3+R5 or R5+R7 completes an opt. substd. monocyclic ring; provided that X is not H when R1 = t-Bu and R2 = Me or when R1=R5=R6 = Et. (B) Insect and mite repellent compsns. contg. omega-hydroxyalkylcarbamate derivs. of formula (I) are also new: X' = H, COR11, COOR12 or R13; R12 is as defined for R2; R9 and R10 are as defined for R8; n and m = 0 or 1; provided that X1 is not H or R13 when n=m = 0. |
