In prodn. of a high-temp. superconducting structures, an oxide formed on prodn. of the structure is converted in a glass melt, a glass-forming additive esp. Ga2O3, Al2O3, B2O3, SiO2 or GeO2 is added, and the melt is the solidified to form a glass which is converted to a high-temp. superconductor by heat-treatment. In the process another additive is added which may form a chemical bond with the glass-forming additive. The glass-forming additive and the other additive are added separately. The other additive is pref. B2O3, CaO, SrO, La2O3 and/or a rare earth oxide. The chemical bond between the glass-forming and the other additive is pref. produced beforehand. The cpd. formed through this chemical bond is pref. of LaGaO3, YbGaO3 and/or Ga2Y4O9, esp. Ga24Bi12SiO56, GaBO3, Ga2Ge2O7, Ca2Ga2SiO7 and/or SrGa2(SiO4)2. USE/ADVANTAGE - A superconductor is obtd. which exhibits a low Pinning potential.
