PURPOSE:To prevent the transfer defect owing to the loss of heat by using an infrared light transmittable roll, and carrying out transfer while pressing a sheet to this roll with a pressure plate. CONSTITUTION:An infrared light source 11 and a reflecting mirror 12 are used as radiation sources. The transfer device is constituted of a revolving cylindrical roll 20 allowing the virtual transmission of near infrared light, a guide roll 15, a discharge roll 16, and further a semicircular pressure plate 13 having fine fibers 14 along the outside circumference of the roll 20. If the toner images 97 formed on a transparent sheetlike electrophotographic photosensitive material 100 and a transfer sheet 101 are superposed, and these are inserted into the carry-in port 18 of the transfer fixing device, the roll 20 is revolving in the direction of an arrow A, and the sheet is fed to a heating area by the roll 15. Here, the toner melts by absorbing infrared rays and is heat-transferred to the sheet 101. The sheet is discharged by passing through discharge means 16, 17. |
