An air-conditioning apparatus comprising: a refrigerant circuit in which at least a compressor, a heat-source-side heat exchanger, expansion means, and a use-side heat exchanger are connected by a refrigerant pipe, and through which a refrigerant is circulated; heating means that heats the compressor; a first temperature detection sensor that detects a refrigerant temperature that is a temperature of the refrigerant located in the compressor; and a controller that controls the heating means, wherein while the compressor is stopped, the controller calculates a change rate of the refrigerant temperature per a time on the basis of a value detected by the first temperature detection sensor, and changes a heating amount to the compressor by the heating means to be proportional to the change rate of the refrigerant temperature.
