The invention relates to a dental or orthopaedic multipart implant for positioning and holding a prosthesis (12) on a bone site. This implant comprises a superstructure having a shaft (5) capable of undergoing a radial expansion, in particular by virtue of longitudinal slots. Pressure means are arranged in the said shaft for expanding it or releasing it, these means being effected by manoeuvring means. The pressure means can consist in particular of a ball (11a) bearing against a conical ramp, and the manoeuvring means can consist of a row of balls and a manoeuvring screw (10) situated in proximity to the free end of the false stump of the superstructure. The implant according to the invention can be fixed in a precise manner in the implant root (1) and can be removed easily if need be. <IMAGE>
