A method and a device for metering and applying pasty media to an object is proposed, in which a metering device which is filled with the medium can be moved relative to the object. The metering device is fed with pressure as a function of the desired application amount. Associated with the metering device is an inspection device which measures the degree of reflection at the application point before metering. After application, the degree of reflection is measured again and compared with a predetermined degree of reflection.
