Epoxide adducts are obtd. by reacting (A) polyepoxides with epoxide functions with (B) amides with active H, comprising (a) prim. and sec. amides, (b) amides with COOH gp(s), or (c) amides with aromatic OH gp(s), in presence of catalytic amts. of a base, or (d) amides with aliphatic OH gp(s), in presence of catalytic amts. of a Lewis acid, and opt. neutralising. Used in clear or pigmented binders, hardenable with hardeners. The compsns. are used in coating modifying or reinforcing or organic, mineral or metallic substrates, inmodifying hydrualic binders, and in heat-resistant mouldings.
