USE OF ADAMANTANE DERIVATIVES IN AUGMENTING OR ENHANCING THE AROMA OF CONSUMABLE MATERIALS

Described are adamantane derivatives defined according to the structure: wherein R1 is hydrogen or acetyl R2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R3 is hydrogen or methylene (CH2) and wherein the dashed line represents a carbon-hydrogen single bond or a carbon-methylene double bond with the provisos that when R2 is methyl R1 and R3 are both hydrogen and when R2 is hydrogen, R3 is methylene and the dashed line is a carbon-methylene double bond and uses thereof in augmenting or enhancing the aroma of consumable materials selected from the group consisting of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles. This application is a Continuation-in-Part of application for United States Letters Patent, Serial No. 261,275 filed on October 21, 1988.
