CONSTITUTION:Torque at the tensionless time is calculated by inputting the voltage, current V, I of the output of a drive controller 6 and the revolving speed of a revolution detector 8 for motor in a computing element 10 for torque, outputted to a tension controller 13 and stored until a material 1 is bitten into a 2nd rolling mill 3 from it is bitten into a 1st rolling mill 2. Next, after the material 1 is bitten into the 2nd rolling mill 3, the output voltage, current V, I of a drive controller 7 and the revolving speed of a revolution detector 9 are inputted in a computing element 11 for torque and torque is calculated and simultaneously outputted to a computing element 12 for work ratio. And the sum of the work of the 1st and 2nd rolling mills 2, 3 is calculated. Again, the sum of the work of the 1st and 2nd rolling mill 2, 3 is calculated, the ratio to the preceding work is calculated and outputted to the tension controller 13. The correction revolving speed is calculated with the tension controller 13 and outputted to the drive controller 6.</p>
