<p>PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of the performance of a deodorizing device and the facilitation of the maintenance and repair thereof by a method wherein the filling layers having the microorganisms capable of decomposing malodorous components adhered thereto are formed in multiple steps, the filling layer in the first step is subjected to a continuous water sprinkling and the filling layer in the final step is subjected to at least an intermittent water sprinkling. CONSTITUTION:A foul-smelling gas is brought into contact with the filling layers 1 and 1' to which the microorganisms capable of decomposing the malodorous components are adhered in order to deodorize the foul smell biologically. In this process, the filling layers 1 and 1' are formed in multiple steps and the filling layer 1 is subjected to a continuous water sprinkling and the filling layer 1' in the final step is subjected to at least an intermittent water sprinkling. As a result, the removal of methyl sulfide and methyl disulfide which has been almost impossible by the conventional method can be achieved easily. Also, this method makes it unnecessary to control the moisture content of the filling layer in the final step requiring at least an intermittent water sprinkling, improving the performance of a deodorizing device and facilitating the maintenance and repair thereof.</p> |
