The invention relates to a device which makes it possible to avoid the angular loss of the exploratory field by increasing the number of photoelectric X-ray cells which constitute the head of a densitometer. This device consists of 27 reference cells divided into 3 compartments of 9 cells, and 434 measurement cells divided into 62 compartments of 7 cells. The device according to the invention is intended in particular for the exploration of the cervical and intestinal zones of the organism.
