PURPOSE:To obtain a water-based developer for a waterless PS plate ensuring superior developability and dot reproducibility, hardly generating bubbles and not requiring a surfactant in spite of the water base by preparing an aq. soln. contg. specified components. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. 1-39wt.% alcohol deriv. represented by formula I, 0.1-30.0wt.% water soluble arom. compd. represented by formula II and 60-98wt.% water is prepd. In the formula I, R<1> is 4-12C alkyl or alkenyl, R<2> is H or methyl and n is an integer of 1-6. In the formula II, R is H, CH3, C2H5, OCH3, OC2H5, OH, COOM, SO3M, CN, Cl or Br, Ar is aryl, Y is COO, SO3 or PO3, M is Na, K, Ca, Li or NH4 and m is an integer of 1-3. A water-based developer ensuring superior developability and dot reproducibility is obtd. |
