PURPOSE:To hold semiconductor optical elements and optical fibers at a constant interval and to eliminate the possibility of their contact by detecting light crosstalk between mutually adjacent semiconductor optical elements or optical fibers and adjusting the optical axis positions of the optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:Light which has specific wavelength are made incident on the optical fibers 2-1 and 2-6, terminal voltages V1 and V2, and V5 and V6 which are generated by light incidence on photodiodes 1-1 and 1-2, and photodiodes 1-5 and 1-6 adjoining to the same channels with the optical fibers are measured through a lead line 3 respectively, and light crosstalk values (V2/V1 between the photodiodes 1-1 and 1-2 and V5/V6 between the photodiodes 1-5 and 1-6 which are the ratios of those voltage values are detected. Then the interval between the optical fiber 1 and photodiode 1 is narrowed down by moving the optical fiber 2 in an X-axial direction so that those light crosstalk values V2/V1 and V5/V6 decrease. Thus, the optical axial position of the optical fiber 2 is adjusted so that the light crosstalk values decrease to desired values, and thus the intervals to the photodiodes 1 are held constant to prevent them from coming into contact. |
