<p>Storage and updating apparatus for data devices (3) such as bar-code readers comprises a plurality of ports (84) for receiving the bar-code readers (3). Each port (84) has terminal pins (92) for transmitting data between the readers (3) and a common data source/receiver (98), and for supplying power for battery recharging to the readers (3) from a common power supply (96). The ports (84) are disposed in rows on opposite sides of the apparatus (14), the rows being disposed one above the other in an offset fashion.</p> |
