PURPOSE:To enable density variation to be reduced in a recorded image by calculating density variation correction data on a test pattern recorded by a recording device based on a density variation value obtained from a density variation reading device, and controlling an image signal to each image recording element of a recording head using a calculation device. CONSTITUTION:A test pattern is recorded on a recording sheet 2 by connecting a uniform image signal to each recording head 1C. 1M, 1Y, 1Bk using a control circuit 15. Then the recording sheet 2 is illuminated by an illumination power source 18 as a density variation reading device 14 to read the record density of a test pattern using reading sensors 17C, 17M, 17Y, 17Bk. Thereafter, a signal of data which is read from a test pattern recorded by each recording head is converted to a digital signal using an A/D conversion part 36, and is stored in RAM 19. CPU calculates variation correction data based on R, G, B and Bk signals and generates each color density variation correction signal based on cyan, magenta, yellow and black density variation correction data using a color density variation correction RAM unit. CPU controls these color density variation correction signals. |
