PURPOSE:To detect the curved point of a vehicle travel path by providing a gyroscope which generates an output showing that the vehicle is applied with a angular speed more than specified and a decision means which decides that the travel path is curving when the continuance of the output signal exceeds a specific time. CONSTITUTION:When the rotary shaft 13a of a motor 13 is rotated as shown by an arrow and the gyroscope 1 rotates as shown by an arrow C because of the curving travel of the vehicle, the motor 13 and a holding frame 12 are rotated with a Coriolis force as shown by the arrow C. When the vehicle turns right by the rotation of this holding frame 12, and upper photointerrupter 16a detects the angular velocity of the vehicle, but when the vehicle turns left, a lower photointerrupter 16b detects the angle of the vehicle. The output signals of the photointerrupters 16a and 16b are sent to a measuring means 21, which measures the continuance of the output signals. Then the decision means 22 decides that the vehicle turns right or left when the continuance is longer than one second, and inputs information on it to a storage means 23. |
