PURPOSE:To extend the lifetime of a lithium secondary cell by using a nonaqueous electrolyte impregnated with a 1,4-dioxane compound or a 1,4-dithian compound as the nonaqueous electrolyte of the lithium secondary cell. CONSTITUTION:As a component of a nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium secondary cell, the electrolyte is impregnated with a 1,4-dioxane compound or 1,4- dithian compound. Either of the aforesaid compounds contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte is remarkably stable chemically against lithium and restrains reactivity between the nonaqueous electrolyte and lithium. By using either of the compounds, therefore, the cycle characteristics of the lithium electrode of the secondary lithium cell is improved, and the lifetime thereof can be improved. |
