PURPOSE:To make maintenance work easy by deleting error log information corresponding to already solved fault. CONSTITUTION:An information processing system is composed of an operation processor 11, input/output controller 12, main storage device 13, diagnosis unit 14, service processor 15, magnetic disk device 16, console 17 and printer 18. In such a case, error information showing the fault generated in the required spot of a logic device is collected, analyzed and stored together with suspected fault part name information (FRU name information). When the error is recovered completely, the memory of the error information and the FRU name information corresponding to this error is deleted and is not displayed. Thus, there is no trouble to distinguish the information showing the solved fault and the information showing the newly generated fault on a display screen. |
