PURPOSE:To increase a degree of freedom in the setting of a steering device by having the distance between the connection between a steering arm and a tie rod, and a virtual king pin shaft, varied as the virtual king pin shaft is varied, so as to make the steering angle in the side of a turning inner wheel larger than that of the steering angle in the side of a turning outer wheel. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower parts of a wheel supporting member 1 that supports a front wheel W is supported on a car body through an upper arm 2 and a lower arm 3. The front wheel W is steered around a virtual king a pin axis KL in an integrated form with the wheel supporting member 1 by means of the steering force transmitted from a tie rod 14. The virtual king pin axis KL is a line that connects between the connection center between the lower arm 3 and the wheel supporting member 1, and the intersection P of each axis of each linking member 6, 7 of the upper arm 2. A distance 1 between the axis KL and the connection between a steering arm 15 and the tie rod 14 is varied as the intersection P is moved by the front wheel W. The distance 1 is increased as a steering angle is increased at the time of steering in the direction that a wheel works as a turning outer wheel, while the distance 1 is reduced at the time of steering in the direction that the wheel works as a turning inner wheel. |
