An integrated circuit card comprises a memory (16) having a system area (20A) and a user area (20B), a central processing unit for controlling access to the memory, and a program memory. The central processing unit records predetermined data in the user area (20B) on the basis of a first command from an external device, and it compares the predetermined data with other predetermined data recorded in the user area, on the basis of a second command from the external device, in order to detect a possible anomaly of the memory.
