<p>A self-propelled cleaning vehicle (10) has a recirculation system for water collected in the matter storage tank (32). Water separated by a screen (212) is re-injected into the air stream (240) in a suction duct (30) or suction nozzle (22). Screened water passes to a tank (214) therefor, for temporary storage. The mesh size of the screen (212) is relatively coarse by a factor of up to about 5 times as compared with previous proposals. The storage tank (214) for the screened water is of relatively low volume and is provided with a topping-up system comprising a relatively large tank (226) of clean water which maintains a predetermined minimum volume in the tank (214) of screened water.</p> |
