The invention relates to high-voltage electrical converters, mainly employed to generate an electric field. The converter produces a pulsed field making it possible to obtain performance levels equivalent to a 120 watt converter for a consumed power of 8 watts. It is reliable, safe, light and compact by virtue of the use of ceramic capacitors. Its performance levels are not modified by a short-circuit or prolonged arcing even lasting 10 days. Among the applications of the invention can be cited flocking and the possibility of easily moving the converter around in a simple carrying case, which makes it attractive to the craftsman or individual. <IMAGE>
