The dry engine mounting provides improved acoustic insulation. The mounting consists of a block (3) of resilient material with a low-rate spring characteristic. The block is fitted inside two cup-shaped housings (1,2), which slide telescopically one inside the other. The housings are sepd. axially from each other by elastomeric cushions (5,6) with end walls (17,18) connected by ribs (14,15) which buckle under axial load. The outer surfaces of the cushion end walls are provided with a number of knob-shaped protrusions (19, 20).
