PURPOSE:To clearly display a boundary part between colors different from each other by setting the color data of a picture element unit read in from an image scanner so as to be the same as the color data of an adjacent picture element closer in distance on color space. CONSTITUTION:The color data of an objective picture is stored in a memory by the picture element unit by an input means 10. An arithmetic means 11 calculates the distance on the color space between two picture elements adjacent to each other on the basis of this color data in respect of all the picture elements. A comparing means 12 compares the distances on the color space between the picture element and the adjacent picture elements at both sides with a prescribed threshold in respect of one picture element. When as the result of this comparison, the distance exceeds the threshold, a setting means 13 sets the color data of the picture element so as to be the same as the color data of the adjacent picture element of the shorter distance on the color space, and a picture forming means 14 forms a picture based on this color data. Thus, the boundary part between the colors different from each other is clearly displayed. |
