<p>In the knitting of a garment for example, where parts of the garment are knitted separately on a flat knitting machine having at least one pair of needle beds, and where a part of the item on one side is moved and connected to a part of the item on the other side, stitch loops on the outermost boundary side of said one-side part are overlapped (at 51 to 61) with stitch loops of one of the second to fourth wales from the boundary side of said other-side part.
