PURPOSE:To form an image high in resolution and precision and to prevent an electrostatically charging member and the member to be charged from being attached and fixed to their surfaces by specifying the molecular weight distribution of a styrene type resin as a binder resin, the diameters of the organic resin particles, specific electric resistivity, the volume average particle diameter of the toner, and its particle diameter distribution. CONSTITUTION:The styrene type resin to be used as the binder resin has at least one peak in the molecular weight distribution of <=10000 by GPC but no peak in >=10000, and the area proportions of the ranges of <=10000, 10000 - 50000, and >=50000 in the molecular weight distribution are 55 - 80%, 5 - 25%, and 5 - 20%. The organic resin particles have particle diameters of 20 - 800mmu, and a resistivity of 10<6> - 10<14> OMEGA.cm, and the color toner to be used comprises at least the styrene resin containing a nonmagnetic colorant, an inorganic oxide, and the organic resin particles, thus permitting a copied image high in resolution, precision, and image quality, and to prevent charge quantity from becoming too large, and also poor cleaning and leakage from a cleaner. |
