PURPOSE:To remarkably improve record-reproducing characteristics and durability by constituting the title medium in such manner that a recording layer contains the association body of a waterinsoluble or slightly water-soluble dye monomer and polybutyl methacrylate or cellulose acetate and has an absorption maximum wavelength in a specific wave range. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing the association body of a dye monomer and polybutyl methacrylate is provided on a substrate. To form the recording layer, the dye monomer and polybutyl methacrylate are dissolved in an organic solvent so that a recording layer-forming application liquid is prepared, and then, after the application liquid is applied to a substrate surface to form a film, the film is dried. As a solvent, a fluorine solvent is used preferably to accelerate forming the association body of the dye monomer to enable efficiently and easily forming a dye-recording layer having an absorption maximum in a wave range longer by 50nm or more, preferably by 80nm or more and more preferably by 100nm or more than the absorption maximum wavelength of the dye monomer. The ratio of a dyestuff to a binding agent is within the range of 0.01-99%. |
