PURPOSE:To attain high speed drive of the reader by connecting a photoelectric conversion element to an individual common line at an every other element and connecting each common line to a common output signal via a sample-and- hold circuit. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric conversion elements 11-1n are connected respectively to switching elements 21-2n and the elements 21-2n are connected individual common lines 4, 5 at an every other element. The elements 21-2n are scanned sequentially by a scanning circuit 3. A control circuit 6 drives a sample-and-hold circuit (S/H) 7 and a picture signal on the common line 4 is held by the circuit 7. Then the common line 4 connects to GND via a switching(SW) element 9. Moreover, the circuit 6 closes the SW element 11 to enter a picture element signal of the circuit 7 to a buffer amplifier 13. The picture signal on the common line 5 is processed similarly. When all the elements 21-2n are driven, the circuit 6 drives the SW 14 to read a signal from an amplifier 13 at a picture signal output terminal 18. Thus, a picture signal output period is prolonged and the reader is driven at a fast speed. |
