The interior trim for a motor vehicle is produced using a carrier (4) to which is secured upholstery foam (6). The visible surface of the foam is formed by a covering layer (3). A negative mould (7) with vacuum channels (11) is placed against the covering layer and a groove-like depression (9) is created which subsequently serves as a guide for the sewing machine when adding decorative seams. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple and cost effective method of producing interior trim covered with leather or similar material.
