摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To measure quenching depth with high accuracy by varying the gap between contact parts and a material to be inspected variously and finding the relation among residual magnetic flux density, magnetomotive force, and quenching depth in advance. CONSTITUTION:A magnetomotive force Fc detection block 38 detects the magnetomotive force Fc and a residual magnetic flux density Br detection block 40 detects the residual magnetic flux density Br. Then the gap delta between the contact parts 12 and 14 of a probe 10 and the material 16 to be inspected is varied variously and information regarding the quenching depth (d) is extracted by a gap delta decision block 42 and a quenching depth (d) determination block 44 according to the actual residual magnetic flux density Br and electromotive force Fc by using the previously found relation among the residual magnetic flux density Br, electromotive force Fc, and quenching depth (d). Consequently, even if the surface state is inferior or even if the surface shape is complicated, information on the quenching depth (d) of even a material 16 to be inspected whose contact state as to the probe 10 is not always constant is obtained with high accuracy at all times, so that the quenching depth can be measured with high accuracy.</p>
