A process for forming an image comprises color-developing an image-wise exposed silver halide color photographic material in the presence of a p-phenylenediamine color developing agent represented by the following general formula (I): A-(-L-B)q (I) wherein A represents a p-phenylenediamine color developing agent residue, L represents a divalent connecting group or a mere bond, and B represents <CHEM> as defined herein. Due to the effect of the specific color-developing agent, there can be obtained a dye image formed by the color development reaction with a coupler compound having a quite high fastness to light.
