<p>PURPOSE:To increase the reinforcing effect of the shell of a clubhead and enhance the strength characteristic of the face by forming the reinforcing fibers of FRP constituting the shell of the body of clubhead in sack weaving, using also the FRP with cloth laminated to the face, and accomplishing a consolidated structure. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture a wood clubhead, a core mould 11 formed separately in the shape of the core part of the clubhead body 1 is supported fast on a rod-shaped jig 10 constituting the shank of the club, and the whole peripheral surface enwrapped with reinforcing fibers 12, and FRP with lamination of cloth consisting of carbon fiber is also used to the part corresponding to the face of the lubhead body 1. This clubhead forming material is arranged in the cavity 16 of a mould 15 consisting of a left 13 and a right split member 14, followed by a hot pressure shaping process, and thereby the clubhead forming material is hardened and moulded. After removal of the mould, the tip 10a of the rod-shaped jig 10 protruding at the sole 1c of the clubhead body 1 is cut off, and the opening generated is blocked with a plug 8. Thereby the reinforcing effect of the shell of the clubhead is enhanced to allow expectation of the gear effect for balls on the face.</p> |
