<p>The invention concerns a method and a device for the speedy drying of a material by the application of microwaves, the material itself possibly being fragile. The invention concerns a method which consists in the application of microwaves with a quantity of energy enough to bring the temperatures of the surface and/or of the centre of the material up to a determined upper limit which is a function of the nature of the material, in the application thereafter of the microwaves, when the temperature or temperatures fall to a determined lower limit which too is a function of the material, until the temperature or temperatures again reach that upper limit, and in the renewal of the application of the microwaves in the same conditions until the desired degree of humidity is attained. According to the method of this invention the application of microwaves takes place with waveguide means inclined in relation to the plane of positioning of the material, that is to say, inclined according to the inclination of the Brewster angle. <IMAGE></p> |
