PURPOSE: To maintain clearances between adjacent rotary elements and non- rotary elements of a gas turbine engine with high accuracy by providing positioning mechanisms, each of which consists of a long and thin supporting member radially movably penetrated-mounted, in passages confined by mounting structures. CONSTITUTION: The clearance control device 72 controls clearances G between a stationary casing 74 and the outside tips 76A of plural rotor blades 76, and comprise plural shroud segments 78 consisting of long and thin, circular-arc members, plural mounting structures in the form of cylindrical bosses 80 formed on a casing 74, plural positioning mechanisms 82, and energizing mechanisms for energizing the positioning mechanisms 82. Each positioning mechanism 82 contains a form supporting member of a long and thin cylindrical shaft 88, and a shaft 88 is mounted on a passage 86 confined by the boss 80 so that it can move toward and away from a rotor axis A. Besides, the energizing means 84 is adaped to be freely moved circumferentially about the rotor axis A between first- and second limit positions. |
