PURPOSE:To ensure smooth operation with maximum torque under low temperature by selecting a slow up or a slow down curve corresponding to a set temperature, when an actual temperature exceeds the set temperature, in a printer being driven through a step motor. CONSTITUTION:Upon start of printing operation, a CPU 11 detects an actual temperature T based on an output from a temperature sensor 9. When the temperature Ts previously set in a switching temperature setting means 14 is higher than the actual temperature T, the CPU 11 selects curves C1, C3 having small inclination (acceleration). When T>Ts, curves C2, C4 having high acceleration are selected. A driving signal (d) corresponding to thus selected curves is provided to a controller 6 in order to drive a step motor 5. Consequently, high speed continuous operation is realized while ensuring maximum torque under low temperature. |
