METHOD FOR OBTAINING DRINKING WATER USING UNICELLULAR GREEN ALGAE BELONGING TO GENUS CHLAMYDOMONAS FROM DIRTY WATER OF RIVERS OR LAKES AND MARSHES

PURPOSE:To obtain drinking water efficiently and inexpensively by sterilizing the dirty water from which a solid is removed from rivers or lakes and marshes by ultraviolet rays and ozone gas and subsequently treating the same with unicellular green algae R.Sagar strain 95 belonging to the genus Chlamydomonas. CONSTITUTION:After the solid in the dirty water from rivers or lakes and marshes its settled and removed, the dirty water is sterilized by ultraviolet rays and ozone gas. Subsequently, the dirty water is treated with unicellular green alage R.Sagar strain 95 belonging to the genus Chlamydomonas while the unicellular green algae are propagated within a culture tank in a live state under the optimum conditions wherein suitable nutrition sources, light and carbon dioxide are present and proper temp. is held to adsorb and remove suspended substances. The treated water is filtered and further sterilized by ultraviolet rays and ozone gas to obtain drinking water. Culture is preferably performed at 20-30 deg.C under natural light or artificial illumination of 2500 lux or more while aeration quantity is held to 1l/air/m/l or more.
