An axle beam (1), for supporting in use a non-driven wheel (4) at each of its ends (2, 3), has a longitudinal axis which is inclined relative to a line joining the ends (2, 3) of the beam over a major part of the length of the beam (1). The beam (1) is preferably curved towards each end (2, 3) and at its centre (9), and is substantially straight between its centre (9) and each end (2, 3). The angle of inclination ( alpha ) of each straight portion is in the range 11 DEG -30 DEG and preferably is substantially 22 DEG . |
