In addition to the switch path (5) limited by stops (9) for the normal compacting work range, the manually operated control lever (1) has a further such path (6) which provides an extension beyond the front stop (9). This additional path is only available to the operator by means of a special control manipulation, i.e. by removal of the front stop itself from the movement path of the lever. The manipulation can also involve a prolongation of the switch rod (2) between the lever and the mechanism for phase adjustment of the activator. USE/ADVANTAGE - To operate a ground compacter so that it can be moved from place to place with reduced vibration force during the movement process.
