<p>PURPOSE: To accurately determine the desired hue and color intensity of a golf ball by preparing a blend comprising specific amounts of an ionic copolymer neutralized by metal ions, a main coloring agent, an opaquer, and a fluorescent whitening agent. CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated monocarboxylic acid of three to eight carbon atoms is reacted with an olefin of two to eight carbon atoms so that an ionic copolymer with a melt-flow index ranging from 1 to 90% is synthesized by metal ions. A main coloring agent, an opaquer, and a fluorescent whitening agent are blended in the ionic copolymer by 0.05 to 6wt.%, 0.05 to 4wt.%, and 0.01 to 1wt.% (of the copolymer), respectively, to prepare a colored golf ball cover material with a dark shade. A suitable example of the main coloring agent is rhodamine dye, and a suitable example of the opaquer is titanium dioxide.</p> |
