PURPOSE:To obtain a high-temp. superconductor having a monoclinic system and a relatively high critical temp. by firing and annealing starting material so prepd. as to give a specified compsn. consisting of Bi, Pb, Sr, Ca, Cu and O under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:Starting material so prepd. as to give a compsn. represented by the formula (where 0.1<=x<=0.4 and 7.5<=y<=8.5) is fired under >1/18 atm pressure of oxygen and annealed in oxygen under <=1/18 atm, in an inert gas or in vacuum to obtain a desired superconductor. Other proper conditions in the firing are 700-900 deg.C and <=100hr. Other proper conditions in the annealing are 600-850 deg.C and <=100hr. More favorable effects are produced by calcining the starting material at 500-1,200 deg.C under 0-1,000 atm pressure of oxygen for <=40hr before the firing. |
