<p>PURPOSE:To relieve the IC chip from an electrostatic breakdown and to improve the electrostatic breakdown strength as a data carrier by allowing static electricity which goes in from a connecting terminal to conduct to an earth terminal before going into the IC chip and discharging it between the terminal and an earth. CONSTITUTION:In a recessed part of an external member 13 made of a metal, a module 14 is embedded, and on its surface, plural pieces of connecting terminals 15 like concentric circles to be connected to an external device are provided. A signal inputted to this terminal 15 is led to the inside of the module 14 through a through-hole 16. Also, between each terminal 15, plural pieces of earth terminals 17 like concentric circles having an earth potential are laid, and led to the inside of the module 14 through a through-hole 18 in the same way. In such a state, when an owner of a data carrier touches an electrified data carrier, he comes to touch the terminal 15 and the terminal 17 between them, therefore, static electricity is discharged between the terminal 17 and an earth, and the static electricity does not go into an IC chip 21. As a result, it does not occur that the IC chip is broken down by static electricity.</p> |
