PROCESS FOR IMPREGNATING POLYESTER YARN MATERIALS WITH DISPERSION COLORANTS

Woven polyester fabrics are printed with a paste contg. colourant dispn. mixed with cpds. for adhesion, thickening, drying and spraying and improved by the addn. of 0.5-1.5% polyethylene glycol of 400 avg. mol. wt. and 1.5-2% acrylic copolymer. The additional components improve colourant yield, washability, and diminish material usage. Printed fabrics are washed at 60-80 deg.C followed by cold rinse. One of the warm washes contains 1-2 g/l sodium carbonate and 1-2 g/l fatty-alcohol-sulphate surfactant.
