The invention refers to a source of current impulses which comprises a controlled rectifier with thyristors (1) controlling the amplitude of impulses through a regulating block (5) in which the desired amplitude is imposed through a potentiometer (6), the regulating block (5) being also supplied with the real value of the current amplitude measured by a shunt (7) and processed by a transducer (8) which supplies at the outlet a continuous magnitude proportional with the current amplitude. In addition, the invention comprises also an inverter (2), which regulates the frequency through potentiometers (9 and 10), and the duration of the impulses by an electronic command block (11), an adaptation transformer (3) and a diode rectifier (4).The source is used for increasing the roughness of aluminium foils in the structure of condensers and it makes possible the control of the parameters of the current impulses in conditions of reliability and high yield.<IMAGE>
