PURPOSE:To obtain speedy and secure convergency and to improve intercode interference by inserteing a control signal which has a specific period and a specific time waveform into random input data and estimating characteristcs of a transmission system. CONSTITUTION:The control signal SP having a specific period and a specific time waveform is transmitted through a transmission line 10 having an overall transmission characteristic T(omega); part of the output of the transmission line 10 is A/D-converted and then transformed into frequency information by a Fourier transforming circuit 13. A frequency spectram obtained by Fourier-transforming the control signal SP into a frequency spetrum and the output of the circuit 13 are processed by a CPU14 to identify the overall transmission characteristic. From the overall transmission characteristic and desired transmission characteristic, a CPU17 calculates a necessary transmission characteristc, which is transformed by a reverse Fourier transforming circuit 20 into time information, which is supplied to a compensating filter 21 as weighted information. |
