PURPOSE:To perform printing on offline by a construction wherein a storage medium is connected to the inside of a printer. CONSTITUTION:When recognizing that a floppy disk 4 is loaded on this printer by a loading detection circuit 8, a control part 3 checks the state of an operation panel 2, and sets switch circuits 6, 7, and 9 to a state S2 when a switch of the operation panel 2 instructs a writing mode. Then, data received from a host through a data sink 1 is written in the floppy disk 4. In the presence of a plurality of data to be written, a file name preset on a printer side is selected from the operation panel 2 using a switch and a display. Lastly, when a reading mode is instructed from the operation panel 2 with the floppy disk 4 loaded, the switch circuits 6, 7, and 9 are set to a state S3. Then, the control part 3 reads printing data from the file specified in a similar manner to that in the writing to the floppy disk 4. The data is analyzed, thereafter being printed out through a printing part 5. |
