<p>PURPOSE:To improve operability by providing a means for controlling a sorting means in such a way as to provide an empty storage stage between a storage stage used for copying a first sheaf of documents and one used for copying a second sheaf of documents. CONSTITUTION:When a continuous mode of processing two sheaves of documents continuously is set and a first job is to be performed using two bins out of the bins of sorters 400, 401, a first sheaf of documents to be processed in the first job are placed on the first and second bins, and the num ber of bins used at this time is stored in an RAM in the control device of a body 100. In a second job for processing a second sheaf of documents, the control device performs bin assignment to the sorters 400, 401 through serial communication so as to perform processing from the bin after adding one bin to the number of bins used in the first job, that is, the placing in the second job is performed from the fourth bin. The sheaves of sheets in the first and second jobs are thereby separated to facilitate both discrimination and takeout of sheets.</p> |
